For two years I have suggested
1. Iran and Venezuela would offer Bush an opportunity to extend the rack of his administration and silence critics at home.
2. Attacking Iran wold escalate the hostility toward the US and for the first time from within.
3. The larger strategic context is unknown to us. What about Pakistan's nuclear capacity/ Is that the real threat? All else, including Iran, is overture?
4. The choice of terrorism and hostility to middle easterners is a form of racism and cultural paranoia and missed he opportunity to be on the forefront of a more humane and fair world. We chose instead free markets, i.e., free capital rather than inclusion as the basic centerpiece US strategy.
