Science is an episode in the history of art, as art became more complicated: pigments, bronze casting, pottery firing, artists spent increasing amounts of time, increasing rapidly in the 12-14th centuries, studying materials
The pictures included in the timeline show a compelling and dramatic story of our history. I think it tells the story ore clearly and efficiently than can be expressed in any other medium. I'd love to see a poem, a new Dante, that gives song to our new understandings.
